Local amenities, infrastructure and connectivity
One of the sites greatest advantages is its proximity to St Albans City railway station. Situated approximately a six-minute walk away it provides extremely fast access to London. The Thameslink train, which operates every 15 minutes, allows St Albans residents to travel to Kings Cross St Pancras in under twenty minutes making it an ideal development for those looking for a quieter residential space while at the same time being a stone’s throw away from London’s city centre.
Looking in the other direction, the proposed site is a comfortable ten-minute walk away allowing prospective residents quick and easy access to the town’s heart. St Albans centre is inundated with countless shops, restaurants and bars making it an idyllic location for those who enjoy a bustling and vibrant central business district.
St. Albans is also home to many businesses where office employment opportunities present themselves for local residents.
A bus route also runs along Victoria Road and stops just outside the proposed development site, it runs both ways to the station and to the city centre. The transport links surrounding the site make it easy for those who do not wish to use a car, with quick and easy access to both the national rail links and more local connections to the city centre.
The area immediately surrounding the site and down Victoria Street is mixed in character. There are numerous retail outlets, offices, cafes, restaurants and pubs along Victoria Street and at the top end of Upper Lattimore Road before the landscape switches to residential.
With regards to local green space, Clarence Park is situated approximately 500 metres north-east of the site and the Cathedral, Abbey Church of St Albans and the large Roman Verulamium Park are only a ten-minute walk south-west of the site.
